Final Exhibit for Sacred Space: A Collaborative Exhibition

Final Exhibit for Sacred Space: A Collaborative Exhibition

Art Show
This final exhibit opening of Sacred Space will be June 13, 2018 at the Clayton Staples Gallery, west building of McKnight Art Center at Wichita State University from 4:30-7 PM. After 17 years, the exhibit will be disbanded but before this happens, the artists involved in this project wish to honor the two artists who conceived and promoted this project: Diane Thomas Lincoln, (1948-2012) was the director and principle instructor of the decorative and ornamental painting program at WSU, principle researcher for the Visual Arts Cultural Heritage Research Project, faculty advisor for the Decorative Arts Guild, and a widely respected artist, mentor, educator, and activist. Kathy Hull, (1957-2018) was the visual resources curator for the art history program at WSU, independent researcher, artist, mentor, labyrinth designer, and passionate inter-faith educator, and activist. Sacred Space is the initial effort of the Visual Arts Cultural Heritage Research Project at WSU. Diane Thomas Lincoln, principle researcher, worked for more than thirty years promoting the visual arts as a cultural heritage worthy of community support. Besides Sacred Space, Sacred Space is offered for sale (in whole or part) with possession after August 31. Please contact Deborah Dimmick at or 316-303-5949 for information. What is Sacred Space? Sacred Space is a multi-faceted exhibition of art works created by more than 70 artists working together in collaboration. The Clayton Staples Gallery on the 2nd floor-west wing of McKnight on the campus of WSU has once again been transformed into a ‘global village’ garden courtyard. The goal is to promote cross-cultural inter-faith dialogue and awareness of our endangered natural environment.
